Canada Trust, Friends of the Environment Foundation
Brochures are available at any Canada Trust Branch. Supports local environment projects within the Perimeter Highway with grants of $5,000 or less.

Manitoba Hydro - Spirit of the Earth Awards
Manitoba Hydro introduced the Spirit of the Earth Awards program in November 2002, to publicly recognize individuals or groups that have made a positive contribution toward improving the environment in Manitoba. The Awards program recognizes environmental achievement by or that directly involves Aboriginal people. It is open to any person or organization that implements a project or activity that improves the environment or promotes environmental awareness. The deadline for submissions for the inaugural Spirit of the Earth Awards is April 21,2003. Award winners will be announced on Manitoba Day, May 12, 2003 and winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony in Winnipeg on National Aboriginal Day, June 21, 2003.

National Literacy Secretariat (NLS)
The NLS funds a range of research and program development. At present the NLS is soliciting proposals in literacy development in Canada. Human Resources Development Canada, has made $648,050 available for adult literacy project initiatives in Manitoba. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with Adult Learning and Literacy, Manitoba Advanced Education and Training. The deadline for the submission of project applications is April 25, 2003 (postmarked).

Prairieaction Foundation
Prairieaction Foundation raises and grants funds:
To sustain a prairie research network that seeks Research and Education for Solutions to Violence and Abuse (RESOLVE) and
To support national community partnerships pursuing the same goal.

Shell Canada Funding
Our national community investment program is focused on three core areas that we refer to as the ‘Three Es’ - Education, Environment and Employees. (There is an online application form).

Thomas Sill Foundation

Winnipeg Foundation
